This is a poem I wrote about israel/palestine, it is anti-zionist* so if
this offends you please just don’t read…

(note this is in response to why as a jewish womyn I do palestinian
activism)

When I was a girl I had dreams
Dreams o being behind bars
Eating no food
Working hard for my captors
Watching atrocities happen
To my friends
To my family
I’m too young to have experience
But I have the collective memorary
The one all jews seem to have
Of the holocaust
The genocides that happened before
The walls built
Keeping us out
The rocks thrown towards us
Always being second class citizens
Maybe even third or fourth or fifth
Or parent being beat
Or children being murdered
I used to wake up sweating and crying
If we forget history will only repeat

We have forgotten
A few years later we forgot
Cause history is repeating
Only now my people are building the walls
My people are evicting the innocent
Throwing rocks
My people are killing parents
Murdering children
Raping daughters
My people destroying lives
Destroying a civilazation
Destroying hope
My people using guns
Guns against men with rocks
My people tearing down everything
My people uprooting olive trees 100 yrs old
Leaving people with no food
Or resources
Calling victims terrorists
My people leading a genocide
My people bringing me shame

The world turns a blind eye
Shouting anti semite to all
All who think to challenge Israel
The guilty world ignorate
Arabs are semites
The guilty world tolorant
Allowing my people to harm
Because they did nothing
For the 6 million+ lost
But two wrong never ever make one right

I have new dreams now
Dreams of walking through “Israel”
The walls are red
Red with palestinian blood
The roads paved with palestian souls
Dead children lay where they have been killed
Houses still smoldering
Soldiers forcing people to do forbidden
When I wake I’m curled up
Crying, weeping, sobbing

In my dream I realise
Zion no longer means heaven
Zion has now been claimed by hell

*I should clarify I’m not exactly anti-zionist. I believe that there shoul be a jewish state, I just don’t believe that the jewish state should be built on the blood of innocent people, or should exist by kicking people out of their homes and land. If there were a way for a jewish state to exist without the displacment and torture and ruin of another country then I’d be a zionist

review…

Naughty Needles
Sexy, saucy knits for the bedroom and beyond

2006. Potter craft

First off this book is written by a relatively new knitter, so I feel
things are made less scarey for those who have never knit beyond a
scarf. Also since she’s relatively new to knitting it helped her think
outside of the box some for cool patterns…

Highlights :
Patterns are fun and sexy and so are the photos, even dare I say
risque.
Lots of variation, from bedroom sexy that you could potentially wear
outdoors(depending on personal modesty) to things worn only in private,
to things used on other people for kinky pupouses, and finally
costumes….
Many of the patterns are innovative and fun.
More ideas and pattern spin offs online
Best step by step by step using two different colours diagram of the
kitchener stitch I’ve found…

Lowlights
The patterns are sized S,M,L,XL with no measurment explaination you have
to actually look at the pattern scematic to figure out sizes and on some
items even that’s tricky,
In someways a little too basic for me
Lots of novelty yarn usage(warning for those who have aversion to such
yarns)

Overall, I love this book and hope that another comes out with some more
advanced patterns. I still give this book an A-

So I geeked out today and created a header for my LifeCycle blog and i love it isn’t it cute I also updated the blog with my work out and added a link to the offical website…

so far no donations :-( but im sure you all are just waiting for your next paycheck or after the holidays… esp since I announced a raffle where you can win WINE and YARN!!! and maybe even some patterns…

in other news i miss my mohawk… im so discontent with my hair lately I’ve cut it, bleached it, dyed it, cut it again and im just sooo BLAH… I’m a red head now… like ariel red…

money and do this and it will be fun…

One idea I’m thinking is every 500 dollars I raise having a raffle and

sound like a good idea??

Maybe I should steal Krys’s idea and sell things online at an etsy store
but all my own stuff…. I need to start an etsy store anyway
