SPS and Tank Girl Hat Of Doom

Today is sunday which means SPS!!!!

These pictures have a two fold purpose, for they also show another of my designs the The Tank Girl Hat OF DOOOOOOM!!!!!! So this hat is based off a style worn by Tank Girl(and Jet Girl) in the Tank Girl Comics. I dunno what the actual style of the hat is supposed to be but I think it might just be a backwards legionaire hat…. Well I’m in love with all things Tank Girl(hint hint to presnet buyers a sucker uppers) and decided to make The Tank Girl Hat OF DOOOOOOM!!!!!! It is knit from the brim to the top then you pick up the stitches for the earflaps and back and knit down and then do the same for the flap the flap doesn’t come down but you could put button holes in if you wanted to….. Mine is knit with Noro’s Cash Iroha(can you tell I have some of this hanging around???

Self Portrait Sunday

So because one can never have too many commitments I signed up for Self Portrait Sunday from here on out will be refered to SPS and hopefully it will incourage me to post more often….

So here is my first SP since it is now technically sunday and also my first piece in my Moleskine/Art Journal so here you go, not my best work but I’m still fond of it(p.s. I’m fond of drawing crying eyes soo ummm get used to it)

That damn save as draft button always screws me up so yesterday was silent poetry reading in blog land and this is some of my own….

Due to copyright laws I won’t be sharing some of my favorite author, Sylvia Plath’s poetry so instead I give you some of my own…. This is called “Ode to Mia” something some of you may know is that I’m recovering from eating disorders I’ve been in recovery for about 6 years… In the eating disorder community the girls* like to personify their disorders by naming then Ana and Mia this poem is about taking back control…

A Ode to Mia

I don’t eat in public
I can’t stand to see
People staring, gawking
At fat, fat, fat me

My thin clothes are tiny
My fat clothes are too small
Even the muu muu is snug
Why do I bother at all

How I want to invite you

But I know your lies are not true

You snuck in my house last night
You pulled me past the border

I’m filing a restraining order

art journal

I’ve been looking at various places online at art journals I’ve had a moleskine or 10 cause I’m addicted to books and journals and such but as a virgo I have a hard time actually writing in them and filling them with my “nonsense”… but in the past few months I have found that I have been missing art in my life… and my sketch book is hard for me to carry around so I am hoping that this is my chance and I can start using my moleskine to do art(the hard part of this is actually keeping a pen near me at all times) so I was looking at livejournal communities about them and then this flicker group about them and now I’m filled with doubt, they are all amazing AMAZING artist and I’m ehhhh only a so so artist and all filled with doubt….

in other news I’m thinking of doing a yarn dying swap….

here’s my idea

it would be a dye with a theme swap…

you would dye yarn in specific theme chosen by your swapee…

does that make anysense?? yes?? No?? let me know…
